If you are interested in traveling to Australia for a short-term visit, or a specific purpose, one of the following short term visas may suit you:
If you intend to travel to Australia for tourism or to visit family and friends, you may be eligible to apply for a Visitor Visa.
The current visa options are a short stay visa for visits of three months or less or a long stay visa for visits of between three to six months. In some instances, a longer period of stay of up to 12 months may be available.
Depending on the country of your citizenship, you may be eligible to obtain a visitor visa online.

Your relative will be required to sponsor your application and may be asked to place a bond which will be returned to them after your return home provided you have complied with your visa conditions.
If you need to travel to Australia in order to undergo medical treatment or to attend medical consultations, you may be eligible to apply for a Medical Treatment (Visitor) Visa.
